Boston Baked Beans
Summary
BEGIN THIS RECIPE THE NIGHT BEFORE BY SOAKING THE BEANS OVERNIGHT
Ingredients
- 200 g (7oz) haricot beans, soaked overnight
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp black treacle
- 1 tbsp whole grain mustard

454 g pack of low fat sausages - each sausage cut into 3.
Method
Boil the beans for 10 minutes and then simmer for 30 mins. Drain well.
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to Gas mark 4,180C,350F
Mix the beans and all the other ingredients together and put into a casserole dish with 100ml (3.5 fl oz) boiling water. Cover and cook in the oven for 1 hour
Uncover and cook for a further 30 minutes.
Serve with boiled potatoes.
